There are two main types of Shackle, Dee and Bow. Dee Shackles are mainly used for single point lifting and Bow Shackles are better designed to use when carrying out a Multi Point Lift. Shackles have two different types of Pin fitted, one is the Screw Type Pin, the other is a Safety Pin (Nut and Bolt Pin). The Safety Pin is used when a load is permanent or semi-permanent. Shackles also come if various Safe Working Loads, according the the material size and the pin size.
Eyebolts and Eyenuts
Eyebolts and Eyenuts come in various sizes, they also are supplied in Metric or Imperial versions. There are two different types of Eyebolts, Collared and Dynamo, Collared are designed to be used for Multi Point Lifting and Dynamo are used for Single Point Lifting. The size of the material, each item is made from and the the thread size determines the Safe Working Load of the Eyebolt or Eyenut.
